1. You have 14 days to change your mind
If you buy as a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of the day on which you, or a third party designated by you, took physical possession of the goods, without giving any reason and without penalty (Articles 52 ff. of Italian Legislative Decree 206/2005, implementing Directive 2011/83/EU). If the order contains several products delivered separately, the 14 days run from delivery of the last one.
2. How to withdraw
Simply tell us your decision before the 14 days expire, with a clear statement sent to info@tenutecatena.com, quoting your order number. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to: any unambiguous statement will do. We will acknowledge receipt without delay.

3. How to return the products
You must send the goods back within 14 days of notifying us, to the operating address above. Products must be returned intact, unopened and with the seal unbroken, in their original packaging. We suggest packing them as carefully as you received them and keeping proof of postage.
The direct cost of returning the goods is yours, as permitted by Article 57 of the Italian Consumer Code. You are liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
4. Refund
We will refund all payments received, including standard delivery costs, within 14 days of being informed of your withdrawal. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent them. The refund is made using the same means of payment you used, unless agreed otherwise, and costs you nothing. If you chose a delivery more expensive than our standard option, the difference is not refundable.
5. When withdrawal does not apply
As these are sealed food products, the right of withdrawal does not apply to bottles or jars that have been opened after delivery: once the seal is broken the product cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene and health protection (Article 59(1)(e) of the Italian Consumer Code, implementing Article 16(e) of Directive 2011/83/EU). All products that are still sealed remain returnable.
The right of withdrawal belongs to consumers only: it does not apply to purchases made with a VAT number in the course of a business or profession.
6. Damaged or non-conforming products
This is a different matter from withdrawal, and the costs are not yours. If the parcel arrives visibly damaged, accept it with a written reservation on the carrier’s document and photograph it. Tell us within 24 hours at info@tenutecatena.com, attaching photographs of the packaging and the contents: we will replace the product or refund you in full, at our expense.
7. Legal guarantee of conformity
All products carry the 24-month legal guarantee of conformity under Articles 128 ff. of the Italian Consumer Code. Where goods are not in conformity you are entitled to have them brought into conformity or, under the conditions set by law, to a price reduction or to termination of the contract. The guarantee does not cover defects arising from improper storage after delivery: extra virgin olive oil must be kept away from light, heat and sources of odour.
8. Dispute resolution
The court of Salerno has jurisdiction, without prejudice to the consumer’s mandatory place of jurisdiction. You may also use the European online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
